How to get there
From Porto (approx. 1h15 / 90 km) - Leave Porto via the A4 (direction Amarante/Vila Real).
From Porto Airport (approx. 1h25 / 95 km) - Leave the airport on the A41 (direction Maia / Porto / A4). Get on the A4 (direction Amarante / Vila Real).
From Lisbon (approx. 3h30 / 350 km) - Take the A1 towards Porto. Near Vila Nova de Gaia, join the A41 (direction Matosinhos / A4 Amarante).
From Braga (approx. 1h45 / 120 km) - Leave Braga on the A11 in the direction of Porto, then join the A4 (in the direction of Amarante).
Take the Marco de Canaveses exit.
Follow the signs to Cinfães / Carrapatelo Dam.
After crossing the Carrapatelo Dam, you'll find signs reading “Quinta Alto do Rio”.
Keep following the signs to Souto do Rio (Cinfães), where the Quinta is located.
Useful Tips
On Google Maps or Waze, search for “Quinta Alto do Rio, Cinfães” - the location is correctly labelled.
After crossing the Carrapatelo Dam, the “Quinta Alto do Rio” signs will guide you to your destination.
Access to Quinta Alto do Rio is via a municipal road, typical of the Douro region, which is narrow and steep in the last few metres. This road does not belong to the Quinta but is part of the local public network. We recommend that you drive slowly and carefully, especially in larger vehicles, and take the opportunity to enjoy the countryside and the views over the River Douro - the road is part of the authentic experience of arriving at Quinta Alto do Rio.
